Why Choose Little Athletics?
Little Athletics is a great family orientated sport open to children aged 5-15 years. There are a few things that may help you when making a decision to join little athletics. Diamond Valley Little Athletics is a community not-for-profit sporting group which champions young people through building confidence and strengthening relationships. We also encourage and value personal bests over and above any other achievements. We believe it is more important for a young athlete to continue to improve that focus on the next medal. We love medals, but we love personal bests more. One of the greatest strengths of Little Athletics is the ability to have children compete, whilst surrounded by family, and increasing fitness all at the same time.
Come And Try?
All children aged 5-15 years old are welcome to “Come & Try” on any competition day. Each year we kick the year off with two days of “Come & Try”. The dates for the coming season are;
• Saturday 16 September 2017
• Saturday 23 of September 2017
Season Calendar?
The calendar for the entire 2017 // 2018 season is yet to be finalised.
Location: Our competition and training days are always held at Willinda Park (1 Beatrix Ave, Greensborough). The exception is when we have a regional or state championship.
Time: The competition days begin around 8:30am and finish around 11:30am
Victorian Age Group Calculator
Before registering you will need to work out which age group your child will be competing in. Using the LAVic age group calculator. Here you can quickly and easily find out what age group they fit into. This information is needed prior to registration and a copy of your child’s birth certificate will need to be verified on their first day of competition.
How To Register
You may like your child or someone you care for to join Diamond Valley Little Athletics yet you are not sure how they will go. That’s ok we have you covered. We welcome new comers every week. For the first week that that you attend, you are able to compete with no financial obligation to join. However it is a requirement that any child who would like to participate in a “Come & Try” day, must register prior to participating. This is required for insurance purposes.

What Are The Costs?
The costs of the registration is approximately $150 per child with further discounts for additional siblings. Costs will vary slightly depending on which club that you join. When joining Diamond Valley Little Athletics Centre, you will also need to select a club to be connected with. This decision is made by you as the parent, and is almost always decided through the connection of relationship that your child may already have. Visit our Clubs page for more information.
Weekly Competitions
Little Athletics meets each Saturday of the summer between September and March. There are few Friday night Twilight events, some Sunday Championships, but mostly we gather for competition on Saturday mornings. Diamond Valley Little Athletics holds its weekly competition locally at Willinda Park, Greensborough with events and activities commencing from 8:30am.
